It can help when weak indoor cellular reception is the cause and usable signal is available outside. Ask your supplier to identify the fault and available remedies. After installation, keep submitting readings until your supplier confirms automatic reporting has resumed.
Does it work with every smart meter or supplier?
It depends on your communications hub’s connection. Core 600 Pro supports cellular bands 20 and 3 (800 and 1800 MHz), not long-range radio. “SMETS2” alone does not establish compatibility. Our team can help review your hub details and setup.
Does “not sending readings” mean my meter has stopped measuring?
Normally, no. A lost reporting connection does not itself stop energy recording or interrupt your gas or electricity supply. Contact your supplier if you suspect a meter or supply fault.
My in-home display says “no signal”. Is this the solution?
A display-only fault is a separate local connection issue. This kit addresses cellular reception. Ask your supplier whether it is still receiving readings before assuming the display message means the meter has lost its wider connection.
Will it work in a cupboard, cellar or garage?
It can bring outdoor reception to a compatible hub in these locations. Aerial position, separation and cable route matter; our team can guide your setup. It cannot create signal where none is available outside.
My phone and Wi-Fi work. Could the meter still have a signal problem?
Yes. Phones and communications hubs can use different networks or bands. Working home Wi-Fi does not confirm the meter’s wider connection. Your supplier can help identify the issue.
Will it lower my bills or unlock an EV tariff?
Restored reporting supplies actual readings for billing and data required by some smart tariffs. The kit does not reduce energy use, fix account errors or guarantee tariff eligibility. Check requirements with your supplier.
Are there monthly fees or a new SIM to pay for?
No booster subscription or SIM plan is required. The unit uses electricity. The product page gives kit prices, included cables, options and any additional installation costs.
Do I have to change or open my meter?
No. The kit uses its own aerial cables and power supply. Leave sealed metering equipment untouched. Follow the installation guide and use suitable help for work at height or complex routes.
